As a regular, loyal Nashbar customer and someone who has been in marketing 21 years, I must respectfully disagree.

This sounds like MBA mumbo-jumbo speak... 'emotional connection' my aunt fanny...

I go to Nashbar b/c they have all the top apparel/product brands (Performance Bike does not) at discount prices. Nashbar has been in business a long time by being a leading discounter.... They carry brands like Bellwether, Gore, etc, etc that Performance doesn't.

If Nashbar EVER tried to give me BS of emotionally connecting w/ me when I go to their site instead of offering me a good deal, I think I'd either laugh or throw up!

Cyclists are very practical & are not sold on traditional 'retail' marketing.... This is why bike shops rarely have the retail decor of say a golf pro shop... We care about brands & selection period.

If I want to buy anything for cycling, I always check the price at Nasbar first. 9 times out of 10 they have the best deal.. hence their claim of being 'The Closeout King'

Nashbar trying to 'emotionally connect' with their customers would be like Walmart trying to 'emotionally connect' w/ their customers!

Just my 2¢...
